Henry Ford, ever since 1903, when the Ford Motor Company opened its doors, changed the world forever. With his invention of the moving assembly line, he cut the time for production in half, increased the amount of automobiles made in a day, and was effectively able to lower the price so that the common man could afford one of the abundant automobiles. The Model T with its simply design, standardized mechanics, and its success when referring to sales, is truly a revolutionary automobile made by a revolutionary man. The Model T allowed for the country to shrink while the people's length of travel distance expanded. With the abundance and simplicity of the Model T, everybody, no matter what socio-economic class they belonged to, now had the right to freedom from the slums of the city or the hardships of the farm. No longer were the workers trapped in the torturous life they tolerated every day. With his policy of behavior, Ford ensured that his workers were good people inside and outside of the factory. Though he faced some adversity along the way, Ford brought his company to the top and helped everybody earn the right to mobility and freedom. Ford was a servant of the masses and used his company to benefit the working class, even if it meant hurting his or his company's profits. Henry Ford created an expanded culture, a faster paced society, a ravenous consumer economy, and a justified system of corporate leadership skills that society today takes for granted. Without Henry Ford, society today would hardly be the same. Since Henry Ford changed society and helped the commoners achieve their right to freedom of mobility, Henry Ford is truly a great American industrialist and should be remembered in the span of American history.
